My wife and I love watching your videos. I own a design build business myself, but just so you know you've got that entry door installed flush with the outside of the building rather than the inside. If you've got an undersized jamb like that, you want to install it to the in-swing side of the opening so that you don't have the problem with the strike scrubbing the extension jamb and so that you don't have the problem with having to notch the trim around the hinges. If you do the extension jamb outside, you can also do it in PVC and give yourself a bit more protection from the elements. If you use cedar shake for shims and leave them long, they will extend the plane at the back of the jamb so that your extension jamb comes in exactly where you want, and you can adjust the reveal in the thickness of material you used to build the extension jamb.

Eric, knowing how your office is turning out with the shiplap-style walls, would you have used the same material instead of drywall on this project?

The shape of thr metal in microwave matters a lot. If everything is soft-edged and rounded - you won't have a problem. But sharp angles are weak points that create plasma arcs. That's why correctly designed metal accessories work fine.

I was watching non-stop until Jamie started the slow wood plane, and then I realized his fingers were missing. I thought it was a pun on having a sharp plane tool. Scared me for a second, I thought he lost something while planing. Then I realized what was going on.
